Frank and Lager Webisode

Hey,
Brady here. Just yesterday we released our third video of the Frank and Lager series. It's called Primo Pawn. In the episode The Chief sets up a sting operation at the pawnshop. I came up with the idea late one night driving home. I saw one of those 24-hour pawns. I took note of how of how sketchy the guys were that were trying to sell items at that hour. I thought to myself, "I bet this can make a great skit idea."

Check it out

I began to think about what it'd be like if the pawnshop just stopped being the middleman and just paid in cocaine. I decided later that I wanted it to be a Frank and Lager skit, and I wanted it to be a sting operation. So I sent it over to a man I met at the Lone Star Film Festival for writing purposes. The man's name is Xavier Gonzalez. We have developed a good working relationship between each other.  He’s a script writing machine.

I was very pleased at the results. The script was intuitive to my needs and was really entertaining. So, I set out for locations. I had two choices; a place called A-Action Pawn, and another, MAL Hobby shop. After several issues with A-Action and also getting a last minute shut down with them, I switched to MAL Hobby Shop.

On set, we had a great time. I love working with these actors, and that's one of the reasons why I keep making these Frank and Lager skits. It's usually a primo time.

Funny story, I invited a guy who I call J-Rod (Rodney Jordan) because on the Facebook, I had a competition, 30th subscriber gets to be on the next Frank and Lager skit. He was the winner. This was when we had half the subscribers we do now. It's good to know that we're growing.

Sean Stone and James Holt are Frank and Lager. They’ve been through acting school and are the most fun actors I've had a chance to work with. I love every minute of it.

Future Frank and Lager skits:
  • We got one scripted finished, it's called "Break and Enter"
  • I have a new favorite concept for another called "Druglord Warfare" which is a working title, so I'll get around to a new one.

They're going to be fun ;)

Other skits in the works,
  • Xavier's wrote a new script called "Worst Neighbors" I'm trying to get a Director of Photography to work with this one.
  • I want to make one called "Lost in Translation" about an Asian writer who is hired because paying is yen is cheaper that the dollar. Based on a real concept kind of.

Stay tuned.
